Salad Garden Project - clearing the ground

Autumn and winter are a great time to plan and start new projects in the garden so last week our students began work on the salad garden project. From an overgrown and neglected fruit cage a new idea has developed to rejuvenate the area and it is hoped it will continue to evolve into another productive part of the garden. The only difference being that it will be created and maintained by our students here at Alexanders. As you can see from the photos – ‘many hands make light work’ and a seemingly daunting task resulted in a major change to the site. Much of the hard work has now been achieved (a relief to some I’m sure!), so we can now begin to indulge in the fun bit – the planning, planting, harvesting and ultimately the eating!!
